Souper Cubes 1-Cup vs 2-Cup: Which Freezer Tray Should You Choose?
Choose the portion you normally take out of the freezer, then check how many trays the listing contains. A 1-cup tray and a two-tray pack describe different things: one is portion size, the other is quantity. Start with the meals you actually freeze rather than buying the largest set by default.
One cup or two cups?
| Tray size | Marked portions | A useful starting point |
|---|---|---|
| 1-Cup | 125 ml / 250 ml | Smaller quantities to combine with other food |
| 2-Cup | 250 ml / 500 ml | A larger portion or a dish you want to freeze together |
The markings above follow the manufacturer’s tray size chart. They are portion guides, not nutritional serving recommendations. Measure a meal you commonly prepare to see which amount suits your routine.
Check the pack before comparing prices
Look for the tray quantity, lid quantity and colour in the exact product listing. Two packs can have the same portion size and different quantities. Compare the price of the whole pack first; a low price per tray is only helpful if you will use every tray.
Think through the freezer-to-plate routine
Measure the space on your freezer shelf and check the tray dimensions. Decide whether you will keep portions in the tray or transfer them to a suitable labelled container once frozen. If you plan to use a baking dish later, compare its internal dimensions with the portion you expect to remove; a matching brand name alone does not establish fit.
For this range, the manufacturer distinguishes the food-grade silicone freezer trays from other products. Do not assume every silicone product is the same material or has the same heat limit. Follow the exact tray and lid instructions separately.
Quick buying questions
Does 2-Cup mean two trays?
No. It describes the marked portion size. Read the pack quantity separately.
Should I start with a full gift set?
Only if the different sizes match meals you regularly prepare. A single tray is a simpler way to check your routine.
